Bone conduction is the conduction of sound to the internal ear by and large thru the bones of the cranium, permitting the hearer to understand audio content with out blocking off the ear canal. Bone conduction transmission occurs constantly as sound waves vibrate bone, in particular the bones in the skull, although it is difficult for the common character to differentiate sound being conveyed through the bone instead of the sound being conveyed via the air via the ear canal.
